Korean KT&G · ESSE superslim · twin flavour capsules
ESSE Orange Double Capsule
A flavour-change superslim from KT&G’s ESSE Change line. Two capsules in one filter — apple mint and orange — so you set the taste yourself: plain, cool menthol, sweet citrus, or both. Very light (4 mg) 100 mm superslim, not a full-flavour smoke.

Smoker · Cultural Notes
How Chinese smokers talk about it — impressions and culture, not official claims.
How smokers describe it
Unsnapped
Faint and clean — a very light superslim with little tobacco body by design. At 4 mg tar the base draw is soft and low on stimulus, and some smokers find it almost flavourless until a capsule is crushed.
Mint capsule
Snap the first capsule for a cool apple-mint menthol — the signature ESSE Change note, bright and refreshing rather than sharp.
Orange + both
Crush the orange for a sweet citrus note, or both together for the combined sweet-citrus menthol the pack is built on. Fans like the customisable cool-citrus hit; purists find the flavours sweet and the tobacco thin. We’d rather you knew that going in.
the everyday of it
ESSE is the KT&G superslim that became the world’s best-selling thin cigarette after its 1996 Korean debut. The Change line is its capsule chapter: in 2013 KT&G managed to fit a crushable flavour capsule inside a stick this narrow, something no one had done in a superslim before. This Orange Double Capsule carries two of those capsules at once — apple mint and orange — turning one cigarette into several flavour states. It is a piece of flavour engineering more than a heritage smoke: light, modern, and unmistakably Korean.
gifting
A low gifting tier, honestly. The Orange Double Capsule is a flavour edition, not a prestige box — its draw is novelty and the superslim format, not tobacco depth or face value. Where it lands is as a light, playful smoke for someone who enjoys capsule and menthol cigarettes, or as a curiosity for an ESSE smoker who wants to try the double-capsule editions. Bear in mind that flavoured and capsule cigarettes are banned or restricted in many markets, so it is not a safe gift to carry everywhere.
Smoker terminology
Double capsule — Two crushable capsules in one filter — here apple mint and orange — letting you choose plain, one flavour, or both.
Superslim — ESSE’s signature ultra-thin format, about 5 mm across versus a standard king, giving a lighter, softer draw.
Telling the versions apart
This is the Orange edition of the ESSE Change double-capsule range; the original single-capsule Change carries apple mint only, and KT&G offers many other flavour editions. The twin apple-mint + orange capsules and the light 4 mg superslim spec are what define this one.
Good to know
Is this a strong cigarette?
No. At 4 mg tar / 0.3 mg nicotine on a superslim it is very light, and unsnapped the base smoke is faint. The flavour comes from the capsules, not from body — smokers wanting a strong hit will find it thin.
How do the two capsules work?
There are two crushable capsules in the filter: apple mint and orange. Smoke it plain, crush one for cool mint or sweet citrus, or crush both for a combined sweet-citrus menthol. You set the flavour.
Why do reviews disagree?
Opinions split: capsule fans like the customisable cool-citrus hit and clean superslim draw, while tobacco purists find the flavours sweet and the base smoke thin. We’d rather tell you than oversell it.
How do I know it’s genuine?
Scan the pack barcode before opening the carton — it should return this exact KT&G ESSE edition — and check the ESSE Change branding, the capsule markings on the filter and the health warning are intact.
Can I buy flavoured cigarettes where I live?
Maybe not. Flavoured and capsule cigarettes are banned under EU rules and restricted in the US and several other markets; their open market is Korea and duty-free style channels. Check what is lawful where you are — import limits and duty are your responsibility.
How does it ship?
Tracked, in plain unmarked outer packaging. Import duty and personal-import limits are your responsibility and vary by country; if a tracked parcel is seized, our reship terms apply.
