German aromatic · cherry casing · von Eicken 1770
Chapman Cherry
A cherry-cased German aromatic from von Eicken, the family house that has made tobacco since 1770. Sweet candied cherry sits lightly over real long-cut leaf — a soft, scented, budget smoke rather than a punchy one, with a room note mild enough to pass around indoors.

How Chinese smokers talk about it — impressions and culture, not official claims.
How smokers describe it
Entry
Candied cherry on the light-up — soft, un-harsh, and more a pleasant fruit scent than a flavour-blast. The room note reads agreeable even in a closed space, which is half this cigarette’s appeal.
Mid
Behind the cherry is a mild aromatic body made with real long-cut strands, not reconstituted sheet, so the base smoke stays cleaner than cheap flavoured rivals and the fruit rides on top rather than drowning it.
Finish
A sweetish aftertaste settles on the lips — the single most-mentioned signature. Because the flavour is a light casing and not a syrupy capsule, the finish fades fairly clean instead of cloying.
the everyday of it
Chapman belongs to Joh. Wilh. von Eicken, a German family firm that has worked tobacco since 1770 and remains one of the last independent manufacturers in the country, carrying leaf all the way to the finished pack. Cherry is one of its everyday aromatic casings — not a heritage showpiece but a dependable, sociable flavour with a long shelf life in travel retail and Eastern European markets. Its character is the opposite of a status cigarette: approachable, scented, and easy to share.
gifting
Treat this as a sociable smoke, not a gift. Chapman Cherry is a budget aromatic, so it carries no prestige weight — what it has instead is the ‘won’t stink up the room’ quality that makes it an easy share among friends who enjoy a flavoured cigarette. For a present it is too modest; for passing around a table it is well judged.
Smoker terminology
Aromatic / casing — a tobacco flavoured with an added scent — here a light cherry casing laid over the leaf, rather than a crushable flavour capsule in the filter.
Characterising flavour — a flavour noticeable before or during smoking, such as cherry; banned in cigarettes across the EU and UK, which is why this line lives in duty-free and non-EU markets.
Telling the versions apart
Chapman runs several casings across its aromatic range; this is the cherry one. The honest variable here is not the recipe but the build: reviewers note that packs occasionally contain a loosely-packed or defective stick, so fill quality can differ pack to pack even when the flavour does not.
Good to know
Is this a strong cigarette?
No. At 10 mg tar and 0.8 mg nicotine it is a mild, scented smoke built for easiness rather than impact. Anyone chasing heavy body or a big nicotine hit will find it light.
Are the reviews reliable?
Be aware they are scarce — only a couple of genuine first-hand reviews exist publicly. They praise the taste, the fill and the agreeable smell, and they flag one recurring fault: the odd loosely-packed or defective stick. We’d rather tell you that than overstate a consensus that isn’t there.
How do I know it’s genuine?
Scan the pack barcode 4006396089861 before opening the carton — it should return this exact von Eicken edition. Counterfeit and non-duty-paid Chapman packs do circulate, which is why we source direct and verify every carton we ship.
Can you ship this to the EU or UK?
Cherry is a characterising flavour, and flavoured cigarettes are restricted across the EU and the UK, so this is a duty-free / non-EU-market product. Import rules and personal-import limits are your responsibility and vary by country.
Will it smell up the room?
Less than most. The cherry room note is the brand’s calling card — smokers describe it as un-off-putting even indoors, which is why it reads as the sociable, flavour-liking choice rather than an acrid one.
Is this a premium or gift cigarette?
No. It is a budget German aromatic, not a prestige label. Its strength is being pleasant and shareable, not impressive — a casual smoke rather than a status gift.
