Liqun Long-Filter
The red hard-pack everyday edition of Liqun’s understated-elegant house style — a flue-cured king from Hangzhou, 84 mm with the brand’s signature 30 mm long filter. Medium and smoothness-first rather than bold: the long filter cools the draw to a soft, low-stimulus smoke with a clean, lightly sweet tobacco note. Loved as a plain, dependable daily; some find it milder and less aromatic than the soft long-filter. We write it honestly either way.

Smoker · Cultural Notes
How Chinese smokers talk about it — impressions and culture, not official claims.
How smokers describe it
Entry
Soft and easy down the throat, with little scratch or bite — the 30 mm filter cools the smoke before it reaches you. A clean, lightly sweet flue-cured note opens with a faint herbal edge, the quiet low-stimulus start typical of the Liqun style.
Mid
The flue-cured base comes forward, mellow and smooth rather than warm and heavy. This is where the split shows: smokers who like the hard pack call it clean and even, while those who prefer the soft long-filter find it plainer here, missing the richer, slightly spicier aroma that version carries.
Finish
A light, gentle close with a faint sweet return and no harsh edge. The honest trade-off is that it stays mild throughout and — because so much of the stick is filter — burns fairly fast for its size. We’d rather you knew that going in than oversell it.
the everyday of it
Liqun is Zhejiang’s own brand, made in Hangzhou and carried in the region for decades, and the long filter is practically its signature in the hand — the slim, extended tip that made ‘long-filter Liqun’ a name of its own. It isn’t a prestige line and never pretended to be; it’s the plain, elegant everyday one, the understated (dan ya) smoothness Liqun built its reputation on. In Hangzhou it’s the familiar red pack a host keeps around — recognisable, unflashy and easy to smoke through a day.
gifting
A low gifting tier, honestly. Liqun Long-Filter is an everyday carton, not a face-giving present — for a Liqun gift the Sunshine (Yangguang) and Fuchun lines carry that weight. Where it lands is routine and local hospitality: the recognisable long-filter pack a host sets out for friends, or an inexpensive way for an overseas smoker to taste Zhejiang’s understated-elegant style and its signature long filter.
Smoker terminology
Dan ya — ‘understated, elegant’ — the light, restrained aroma style Liqun is known for across Zhejiang.
Chang zui — ‘long mouth / long filter’ — the extended 30 mm filter that gives this edition its name and its soft, cooled draw.
Telling the versions apart
Mind which long-filter you’re buying: this is the regular red hard pack. Liqun also makes a soft-pack long-filter with its own barcode, a reduced 8 mg long-filter, a soft red long-filter and export editions — all easy to mix up. The 11 mg tar / 1.1 mg nicotine blend, the 84 mm stick and the 30 mm filter are the constant for this version.
Good to know
Is this a strong cigarette?
It’s medium and built for smoothness. At 11 mg tar / 1.1 mg nicotine it’s fuller than an 8 mg lights, but the long filter cools the draw so it reads soft and low on stimulus — heavy smokers often find it mild.
What is the long filter actually for?
The 30 mm filter — longer than the usual 20–25 mm — cools and softens the smoke and makes the stick look slimmer and more elegant. The trade-off is that less of the stick is tobacco, so it burns fairly fast for its size.
How is it different from the soft long-filter?
Both are long-filter Liqun. Many find the hard pack smoother, cleaner and more even; others prefer the soft version for its richer, slightly spicier aroma and find the hard pack plainer. It comes down to taste — and the hard box travels better.
How do I know it’s genuine?
Scan the small-pack barcode 6901028118811 before opening the carton — it should return this exact regular hard-pack edition, with the anti-counterfeit mark and the health warning intact.
Who is it for, and who isn’t it?
It’s for smokers who want a light, smooth, low-stimulus daily with the signature long filter, and for anyone who already likes the Liqun elegant style. It isn’t for heavy smokers who want strong, full-bodied smoke, or for anyone after a deep, complex aroma.
How does it ship?
Tracked, in plain unmarked outer packaging with nothing on the box to signal the contents. Import duty and personal-import limits are your responsibility and vary by country, so check your local allowance before ordering a carton; if a tracked parcel is seized in transit, our reship terms apply.
