Hubei flue-cured · window filter · mid-slim
Huanghelou Shichuang
The design-led ‘Window’ edition of Huanghelou from Wuhan — a transparent filter section and a ‘turbo’ pressure chamber on a light, low-tar (8 mg), smoothness-first flue-cured mid-slim. Closer to a Gold / lights profile than a full-flavour king, with a clean, faintly sweet Chinese tobacco aroma and a cool, understated character.

Smoker · Cultural Notes
How Chinese smokers talk about it — impressions and culture, not official claims.
How smokers describe it
Entry
Smooth and low on stimulus — a light, clean opening typical of an 8 mg flue-cured, with a faintly sweet tobacco note and the brand’s restrained house style.
Mid
A fine, delicate mid with a lighter body than a full-flavour king, shaped by the slim format. Fans call it cool and easy; others find it thin or ordinary for the price it once carried.
Finish
Where opinions split most: clean and quiet for some, a touch sharp or slightly spicy for others. The design is the sure thing here; the flavour divides the room, and we’d rather you knew that going in.
the everyday of it
Shichuang means ‘Window’, and that is the whole idea: a transparent section set into the filter so you can watch the stick burn, with a pressurised chamber behind it that smokers nicknamed ‘turbo’. For a while it was the pack everyone wanted to be seen with — scarce, heavily marked up on resale, more a talking point than a daily smoke. The brand itself is named after the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, carried in a Tang-dynasty poem; this edition pairs that heritage name with a deep-blue, gold-lined, magnetic side-flip box built to be noticed.
gifting
A mixed gifting tier, honestly. The look does a lot of the work — the window filter and the slim deep-blue pack make an impression — but the reviews are divided enough that it is a risk as a serious, face-giving present. Where it lands well is as a novelty or a conversation piece: a design-forward smoke to hand around and talk about. For prestige Huanghelou gifting, the 1916 line carries the weight instead.
Smoker terminology
Shichuang — ‘Window’ — the transparent viewing section in the filter that lets you see the lit stick.
Turbo — Smokers’ nickname for this edition, from the pressurised ‘boost’ chamber engineered into the filter.
Company edition — The standard issue of the Window line, distinct from the later mid-size, slim and higher-numbered successor versions.
Telling the versions apart
The Window concept spawned several editions — this company edition plus later mid-size and slim variants and a higher-numbered successor — which share the viewing-window idea but differ in size, filter and strength. The 8 mg tar / 0.7 mg nicotine blend and the 90 mm mid-slim format describe this one; check the barcode if you are matching a specific edition.
Good to know
Is this a strong cigarette?
No. At 8 mg tar / 0.7 mg nicotine on a slim stick it is a light, lights-style smoke. Heavy smokers often find it thin — that is the honest trade-off for its smoothness.
What is the ‘window’ and the ‘turbo’?
The filter has a transparent section (the ‘window’) so you can see the stick burn, plus a pressurised chamber that smokers nicknamed ‘turbo’. They are design features of the filter, not a change to the tobacco strength.
Why do reviews disagree so much?
The design is widely admired; the taste is not. Some enjoy the light, slightly sweet draw while many find it ordinary for the price it once commanded. We would rather tell you than oversell it.
How do I know it’s genuine?
Scan the small-pack barcode 6901028241403 before opening the carton — it should return this exact edition, with the steel stamp, anti-counterfeit mark and health warning intact.
Is this the regular, mid or slim version?
This is the standard company edition at 90 mm with a 25 mm filter. Separate mid-size and slim Window editions exist; if you need a specific one, match the barcode above.
How does it ship?
Tracked, in plain unmarked outer packaging. Import duty and personal-import limits are your responsibility and vary by country; if a tracked parcel is seized, our reship terms apply.
