Guiyan Guojiuxiang Slim (30) (贵烟(细支国酒香30))
Guiyan’s slim take on its Guojiuxiang idea: a flue-cured thin rod with a crushable jade-bead in the tip that pops to a Moutai-style liquor aroma. Sealed, it is clean and plain; pinched, it turns into a crisp, lightly sweet spirit note that rides to the last puff. Here is the straight version — what you taste, who it is for, and what to check when it turns up.

Baijiu in the filter
Guizhou has one thing no other tobacco province can borrow: it is Moutai’s home. Guiyan leaned on exactly that in 2012, launching Guojiuxiang — national-liquor aroma — as a whole new crossover class of cigarette. The leaf is rotation-grown at the Moutai base and aged in the same cellar-and-microbe air that matures the liquor, then finished with a filter bead the brand calls the yuyezhu, or jade-liquid bead. Do not touch it and you have plain tobacco; squeeze it and Moutai-style baijiu pours into the smoke.
This is the slim 30 — the thin-format version of that idea, 90 mm, 6 mg, in a gold box. It sits inside a small family, so a heads-up: there is a chunkier 84 mm regular, a Small Guojiuxiang, a 50, and an older 15-year edition. If your rod is fat, or there is no bead to pinch, you have got a different pack in your hand.
By the numbers

Those are not sales-brochure boasts — the liquor-bead filter really was a Guizhou-first piece of engineering, and the whole line exists because the tobacco literally grows where the baijiu is made.
What defines it — straight answer
It is the bead, full stop. Left alone, the smoke is clean but a bit plain — plenty of smokers call the un-popped tobacco unremarkable, with only a faint liquor edge to it. Pinch the yuyezhu and it changes gear: a sauce-aroma baijiu note pours in, crisp and a little sweet, not boozy or sharp, and on a good stick it hangs on to the final puff. Fair warning on scale, though — it is a hint of Moutai, not a double. One regular smoker says the liquor is not all that strong, and that is honest: think scented lift, not a poured drink.
And we will not dress this up — a slim 6 mg cigarette is not a safer one. That low tar figure leans on rows of laser-drilled air holes in the filter that thin the smoke; in real life your fingers and lips cover some of them, so what you actually pull in can run higher than the 6 printed on the box. Slim and light are about the rod and the draw, not the risk — and the liquor aroma changes none of it. Smoking harms you whatever the number says; we would sooner state that than gloss over it.
How it smokes, start to finish
Bead sealed
Clean, soft draw, pure tobacco with only a thread of liquor — pleasant, but a touch plain on its own.
Pop the bead
Moutai-style baijiu rushes in and wraps the smoke — crisp, gently sweet, smooth going down.
On the throat
Low and easy, no scratch; it is a slim, so it pulls light.
Staying power
On a good stick the aroma holds right to the last puff, not just for a draw or two.
Afterwards
No dry mouth, little aftertaste — one reason it is easy to keep coming back to.
The catch
The newer capsule is not flawless — the odd bead will not burst; miss it and you are back to a plain slim.
Strength
Genuinely light. Great if you want easy and scented; a letdown if you are chasing a real hit.
Palatability — what it’s really like
If you are picking this one for the taste, here is the fuller picture. The whole design hangs on a single move: a flue-cured (Virginia-style) base — bright and clean rather than dark or nutty — that you can flip, on demand, into a liquor-scented smoke by crushing the filter bead. Sealed, it is a light, honest, slightly plain slim. Popped, it is a crisp, lightly sweet baijiu note laid over that tobacco, with no menthol chill and no fruit — a grown-up, spirit-led flavour that is genuinely unlike the capsules you already know.
“I love pinching the capsule for the liquor — the wine and the tobacco blend perfectly. Honest bit: the liquor is not all that strong, and the new bead is not totally reliable, sometimes it will not burst.”
— a yanpk reviewer
“Clean and not harsh; pop the bead and the tobacco carries Moutai’s aroma, crisp and lightly sweet, and it stays to the last puff — no dry mouth after, no lingering aftertaste.”
— a yanpk reviewer
“The 30’s bead holds a bit longer than the old 15-year version, but the taste overall is a fair bit lighter — not one I would keep as an everyday smoke.”
— a yanpk reviewer, 2020
A couple of practical taste notes. Freshness matters more than with a fat rod — slims dry quicker and the capsule liquid is at its best new, so keep unopened packs cool and dry and work through them rather than leaving one open for weeks. And timing the bead is half the fun: many smokers leave it sealed for the first draws, then pinch it once the tobacco is going, so the Moutai note lands at full strength instead of thinning out early.
Manage the expectation and you will enjoy it more. The base tobacco on its own is clean but not a showpiece — the flavour is the liquor, not the leaf — so this shines as a scented, easy, sociable smoke rather than a strong or complex one. Come to it wanting novelty and a smooth aroma and it delivers; come wanting a heavy, tobacco-forward hit and it will feel thin.

Who loves it, and who won’t
You will like it if you enjoy capsule or flavoured cigarettes and want something more adult than mint or fruit — the baijiu angle is novel and reads clean, not gimmicky. It suits light and social smokers, anyone who likes a slim low-tar rod, and the plain curious who want to try China’s tobacco-meets-liquor experiment. It is also a fine one to hand round as a conversation piece.
You will not if you are a heavy, pack-a-day smoker on strong regulars — even with the bead popped it stays gentle, and the un-popped base is plain. If you dislike any sweetness or flavouring, or you want the liquor loud and constant, skip it. Some smokers simply want a fatter, tobacco-first rod, and that is fair enough — better to know now than order the wrong thing twice over.
How it stacks up
Against Guiyan’s own thicker 84 mm Guojiuxiang: same liquor idea, lighter and more modern in a slim rod. Against a mint- or fruit-capsule slim: the burst here is a sauce-aroma spirit, not chill or candy. Against plain flue-cured slims like Vogue or Esse: it swaps their neutrality for a scent they do not carry. And within its own family, the 30’s bead outlasts the older 15-year edition, even if the taste runs a shade lighter.
When it lands: spotting a fake
It is a distinctive pack, so give it a ten-second look when it lands. Everything we send is source-direct and factory-sealed — barcode 6901028221658, steel stamp on the base, Chinese warning intact. On a real one the box is a crisp gold hard pack with clean embossing, the rod is a slim 90 mm, and — the giveaway — there is a genuine firm bead you can feel in the filter (a fake may skip it or fake the feel). Do not judge by aroma alone; if you want certainty, scan the pack code into Guizhou Tobacco’s anti-counterfeit system.
If customs holds it
Your parcel goes out in plain, unmarked packaging with full tracking — nothing on it names the brand, product, origin or quantity. We dispatch within 1–3 business days and most orders land in about 7–15 days; our typical customs-clearance rate runs around 95%. Tobacco is a controlled import almost everywhere, so duty and personal limits are on you and vary by country — no honest seller can promise a parcel is never checked. What we promise is bounded: should your first parcel to a destination be seized, notify us within 14 days with the official notice and you get one free reship — our
shipping & customs terms spell out what’s covered. You pay one clear price up front, with no surprise ‘insurance’ or ‘clearance’ fees.
Good to know
Is 6 mg too light for me?
If you smoke strong regulars, probably — even with the bead popped it is a gentle slim, and the un-popped base is plain. If you want low-irritation, novelty, or you mostly smoke socially, that lightness is the whole appeal.
What does the liquor actually taste like?
A Moutai-style sauce-aroma baijiu — crisp and lightly sweet rather than boozy — that rides in when you crush the filter bead and, on a good stick, holds to the last puff. It is a scent laid over the tobacco, not a strong standalone flavour.
Do I have to crush the capsule?
No. Leave it sealed and you get a clean, fairly plain flue-cured slim; pinch the yuyezhu bead when you want the liquor note. Many smokers pop it a few puffs in, once the tobacco is going.
How do I know it is real?
Match barcode 6901028221658, check the gold embossed box, the steel stamp and the slim 90 mm rod, and feel for a genuine firm bead in the filter — then scan the pack code with Guizhou Tobacco. Full checklist under When it lands above.
